Chloe Grace Moretz has been cast as the gorgeous ginger Ariel in Universal’s live-action update of Hans Christian Andersen’s The Little Mermaid. No one really knows how closely this iteration will follow the original storyline, but we’re hoping it doesn’t stray too much tbh because why mess with a beautiful classic.
Sofia Coppola bailed as director earlier this year, citing “creative differences.” Moretz was the frontrunner for the role at the time, and some insiders think that Coppola left for this reason. Scandy.
Moretz is currently filming Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, where she is presumably making out with Zac Efron and/or Dave Franco.
